what the hell is this about?

Several friends have embarked on their own P365 journey but as I have no camera nor an eye for photography I've decided to try to complete "a doodle a day" for an entire year. Most will be in my little Derwent A5 sketch book but some could end up being from the corner of some document or scribbled on a newspaper. As the year progresses I will try my hand at inking them as well?

If some of them don't make sense, don't worry, they're probably not meant to. You may notice there will be certain themes along the way and if you know me you'll know why.

I hope you enjoy.

Okay, here goes, every day til I'm 39.

Day #223 - for Erik on his birthday

It was either this or "Iron-overefffecient-Man", I chose the easy option.

Erik was my first ever boss in IT (if you don't count Gateway) but I didn't really report to him, I did enjoy poking fun at him and he has always been a very good sport about it, of course none of it was ever done with any malice intended.

He probably doesn't know this but I still have the "HuP Holland" hat that he gave me and the Dutch version of the Graphic Work of MC Escher, I was envious of his "complete works of Escher" and I did eventually get my own copy (in English).

I remember his scripts and I remember poking fun at the spelling mistakes, I remember that when he had to develop the image for AMP that he had to print out the entire Windows (95 I think, or maybe NT4) registry and read through it all to understand it, or maybe he was just showing off.

I remember that he had his goals posted on his wall in his office and by goals I mean photos of things that he'd like to have.

I remember that his house is an ex porn studio.

But most of all I remember that he has a heart of gold and a classic laugh.

How could I not draw Augustus?

Happy Birthday mate and keep up the good work! (chasing away Augustus I mean!)
