what the hell is this about?

Several friends have embarked on their own P365 journey but as I have no camera nor an eye for photography I've decided to try to complete "a doodle a day" for an entire year. Most will be in my little Derwent A5 sketch book but some could end up being from the corner of some document or scribbled on a newspaper. As the year progresses I will try my hand at inking them as well?

If some of them don't make sense, don't worry, they're probably not meant to. You may notice there will be certain themes along the way and if you know me you'll know why.

I hope you enjoy.

Okay, here goes, every day til I'm 39.

Day #65 - Benny "the Ball"

One of Top Cat's right hand men, Benny was a short round blue cat that was pretty stupid but still wise enough to pull a swifty over Office Dibble.

Top Cat was one of the coolest cartoons the HB ever produced but I can't really remember the premise apart from the Officer Dibble trying to evict the cats from his alley and T.C. (what close friends got to call him) lived in the garbage bin directly beneath his Police phone.

I don't know anybody that could recite all the gang members, the only ones I can remember are T.C., Benny, Choo-Choo and Spook.

It had the coolest soundtrack.

for you parents out there, this is obviously where they got the inspiration for Benny the Bull in Dora the Explorer, he's even blue just like Benny!

  1. There was one called Brains, but Benny was the 'kewl' one, based on Doberman from Sgt Bilko (as they all were...)
