what the hell is this about?

Several friends have embarked on their own P365 journey but as I have no camera nor an eye for photography I've decided to try to complete "a doodle a day" for an entire year. Most will be in my little Derwent A5 sketch book but some could end up being from the corner of some document or scribbled on a newspaper. As the year progresses I will try my hand at inking them as well?

If some of them don't make sense, don't worry, they're probably not meant to. You may notice there will be certain themes along the way and if you know me you'll know why.

I hope you enjoy.

Okay, here goes, every day til I'm 39.

Day #315 - Excavator not Escalator

on Saturday we went to Red Rooster and in their version of the 'happy meal' was a Where's Wally book where each page has a different category and a list of items to spot, Hawk now takes it with him everywhere and checks off things whilst we drive.

He still can't read beyond extremely basic words so he spells them out to me and I tell him what they are.

He spelled out EXCAVATOR and I said, that's an excavator and when I told him what it was he said to me, hang on Dad, isn't an excavator that moving stair thing that takes you up?

I explained that that was an escalator and explained the subtle differences in their pronunciation.

I thought I'd draw an excavator for him so he has a picture of what it is.
