not very interesting this one, but I am a Formula 1 fan and being an Aussie I support Mark Webber, I know he's not the most talented driver but he has a bit of mongrel in him.So this was simply alternatively titled "Webber, Turkey"
about 15 years ago Mitch and I were for some reason in the Rocks, near the MCA, there was a mall behind some shops and the was a christmas themed petting zoo (sort of), well anyway, this little petting zoo was full of reindeer, apart from us there was also this young (early 30s)father and his son of about 6 or 7. Well one of these reindeer was a little randy and was humping one of the others. The little boy turned to his father and said "Daddy, what are they doing?", the young father suddenly froze, he was starting to stammer and redden, I took my queue and said to the little boy, "they're wrestling!", the father gave me this relieved thank you look and Mitch and I have cracked up about it ever since. Mitch sent me a txt this morning and I thought that this would be the perfect drawing for the day.
Somebody said to me, "you're a bit of a basketball head aren't you?" and I thought to myself what would a basketball head look like? I toyed with drawing a guy slam dunking his own head but then thought more about the names we give devoted followers of sports, "heads", "nuts", "tragics", "fans" then thought what would be worse than being called a basketball head? this was the result
I got the idea for this one because of Vic, I was sitting in the loungeroom and I heard her say from the kitchen 'ooh, there's something funky in this fridge' I immediately chuckled thinking to myself 'imagine it there was George Clinton's head on a plate screaming "we want the funk" as you opened the fridge' so that is what I was going to draw. During a meeting I scratched out this concept but it turned out too big, I think in the end I decided that Bootsy Collins and George Clinton wading in a soup bowl was less macabre and I didn't think that I could make it look any better redoing it so submitted this scratchy one as my doodle. Spoon does look a little thick though.
one the way to golf Ed and I were talking about what would happen if the 'big 3' fast food outlets amalgamated, what would result would surely be the fat man's dream, it was hilarious, Ed has a wonderful quick wit and made my birthday one of the most memorable for years, we were both crap at golf but look at what we came up with! haha!
